Just in time for summer, I am trying my first “fruit” beer. I just brewed a Saison, which I plan to secondary with fresh strawberries and rhubarb. This should make for a very interesting light summer beer with, I hope, a hint of fruit (but without being overpowering). I’m hoping the spice balances the sweetness from the malt and fruit. I found the recipe in an issue of Zymurgy (the magazine of the National Homebrewers Association). If all goes well (and I’m really hoping it does), I will post my results here along with the recipe from Zymurgy.
My Pliny the Elder clone (second batch) is currently in secondary, so I am looking forward to another 5 gallons of that hop bomb – which should be ready to keg in the next week or so.
