I moved my Shenandoah Valley Winter Welcome to the keg today. This is a seasonal IPA based on Sierra Nevada’s Celebration Ale. It has a good brown color to it with a ‘pine’ aroma. I’m hoping this will be a ‘malt’ forward IPA, which will be great for the holidays. There were plenty of hops added during the original boil (Chinook for bittering and Centennial/Cascade for taste), and after primary fermentation I racked to secondary and dry hopped for ten days with both centennial and cascade hops for aroma.
This one comes in at 7.1% ABV and should be ready before Thanksgiving. Based on the outcome I will share my recipe on here for any hop-heads out there who may want to give it a shot.
